Katy Yung
Katy is Managing Partner at HK-based Sustainable Finance Initiative (SFi), advising and supporting family offices and investors on their sustainable and impact journeys.
Katy has served as Director of Investment at RS Group, a HK-based impact investor since 2010. She led the family office’s transition from a traditional investment portfolio to one that is 100% sustainably invested. In this role, she was actively involved in designing impact and climate change strategies and implementation across asset classes (utilizing both investment and philanthropic capital). Katy remains as consultant to RS Group.
Katy is formerly an investment banker at J.P. Morgan Securities (Asia Pacific) Limited and a member of the Global Shapers Community, an initiative of the World Economic Forum. She graduated from Duke University in North Carolina with a BA in Economics and a minor on Comparative Area Studies.
Christine Yu
Christine Yu is Head of Innovation at HK-based Sustainable Finance Initiative and is focused on the innovation streams at the SFi at the intersection of innovation, education and impact finance.
Christine’s global career spans over 20 years across impact finance, venture building and the international capital markets. As an impact investor and venture builder at her own firm, Lapidary, she invests in and incubates early to mid-stage, for-profit and mission-focused companies across a variety of social and environmental impact mandates in Southeast Asia and Hong Kong including sustainable fashion, financial inclusion, edtech and the gender lens space.
Prior to Lapidary, the majority of Christine’s career was in the institutional debt capital markets at HSBC in both Hong Kong and New York. During her tenure at HSBC, she navigated through the rise of the Asian debt markets, including the first private sector green bond in Asia Pacific, which prompted her move into impact investing.
Passionate about investing, financial inclusion, financial literacy and the gender lens space, Christine is the Co-Founder of financial education edtech platform Sophia, focused on empowering companies to break the gender investing gap and help women build wealth. She's also co-founded a non-profit organization, Girls Just Wanna Have Fund$ which empowers women to own their financial futures.
She holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Chicago and an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
